HYB Australian Exchange
Have you ever wondered what dairying is like down under?
We’re excited to partner up with Holstein Australia to launch the 2025 HYB Australian Exchange Programme! Holstein UK and Holstein Australia are offering a member of Holstein Young Breeders the opportunity to explore a world of dairying down under as part of the 2025 Australian Exchange. One lucky HYB member will be offered an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia where they can visit a variety of dairy farms, take part in International Dairy Week, and see some of the country's top tourist attractions.
During the Exchange, participants will be able to gain first-hand knowledge about dairy farming in Australia and gain practical experience on-farm. The winner will be a great ambassador for Holstein UK and will keep a blog about their time in Australia to share with everyone back home. As well as taking lots of photos, they will also write an article for the Holstein UK Journal after returning home.
The winner will need to arrive in Australia at the beginning of January, and the exchange will last approximately one month. In Australia, the winner will be welcomed by their first host family before participating in competitions such as clipping, leading and judging, along with farm tours and practical workshops. Next, the winner will be hosted on a variety of dairy farms, where they will gain practical experience and see some sights. In addition to visiting sales and participating in youth competitions, the winner will attend International Dairy Week.
Itinerary
There will be a fully structured itinerary provided by Holstein Australia which will be available closer to the time of travel.
Entry process
To be in with a chance of winning this fantastic opportunity, complete the form below before the closing date of Friday 1st November 2024. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges (to be announced) and the winner will be announced in mid November.
